Prem Aware Award 

Being Premature Aware is a key way for us as a Preschool to ensiure we are providing the best support for our children.

We work with The Smallest Things Charity to ensure we have trained our staff to be aware of the possible impacts, being born early can have on both a child and family.

We have a dedicated staff member Sarah, who will act as your key contact for supporting you with the transition into the Preschool. Sarah will spend some time talking to you sensitively about your story, ensuring you dont need to repeat youself throughout your time here and she can work with your family to ease any concerns or worries you may have about settling your child in, and their transitions throughout their time with us, to make everything as smooth as possible right up to the transition into school. We will provide you with support at every stage and let you know what you can expect.

Whilst being born prematurely does not mean your child will have additional neeeds, it can increase the chances. So we will also ensure we are working with you to remove and barriers to your childs learning and development to give them the opportunity to have the best sart, we will do this through observations which are recorded on our learning jourmals within our 'Famiy' admin platform and we will closely monitor your childs development as we do with all our children.

Should there be any concerns, Sarah will work with you, the team and our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure we bridge these gaps and apart what we do to support your child.

We pride ourselves on being able to adapt to the needs of our families, we love to be able to give and inclusive and individual expereicne for our children. Bring part of this award, is another way in which we can do this, by ensuring we are working with our families to give our cihldren the opportunity to learn & grow in a safe, secure and loving enviroment
